Capsule Resume

Dave has had the opportunity to work in many areas of natural resources. He has extensive experience in reducing bird hazards to aircraft while serving as the Chief of the U.S. Air Force BASH Team. In this position he worked on bird hazard problems around the world and promoted bird avoidance modeling as a major planning tool for air operations. He is considered an expert in avian flight characteristics research and as a pilot has logged many flight hours in advanced aerial telemetry. He has worked in avian satellite telemetry since its inception.

Dave also has years of experience in natural resource planning, research, and habitat restoration. His focus is working closely with clients in a fragmented landscape, balancing the needs of a growing society with natural resource concerns and regulation. He has developed innovative approaches to land-use assessment and modeling, watershed management planning, water quality research, and wildlife management. In recent years he has expanded into wetland mitigation, wildlife surveys associated with construction projects, and land-use planning in large landscapes.
