Bob has been an environmental consultant since 1975 and a regional director since 1979. During that time he has developed a broad range of expertise from plankton to marine mammals and has experience with the east coast of Canada, northern British Columbia, Canadian and Alaskan Arctic, Gulf of Mexico, Brazil and West Africa.

Much of his work in recent years has been associated with the oil and gas, hydro-electric, and mining sectors. Bob has been involved in the environmental assessment (EA) and/or monitoring of all major development proposals in Newfoundland and Labrador since the office opened there in 1979. Onshore/nearshore project experience includes various hydro-electric studies including the Labrador Upper and Lower Churchill developments, and nickel mine/mill/refinery documentation and hearings. Offshore experience includes design, conduct, and management of surveys, assessments, and environmental effects monitoring programs. Major projects have included offshore Labrador (offshore gas), the Hibernia offshore oil development (concrete, gravity based system), Terra Nova and White Rose offshore developments (oil, floating production and off-loading systems). He has conducted numerous EAs for exploration including 2-D and 3-D seismic surveys, vertical seismic profiling, geohazard surveys, and drilling (jack-ups, semi-submersibles, and drill ships).
