Capsule Resume
William has more than 25 years experience in project management, including multi-year, multi-disciplinary, multi-million dollar projects, and more than 30 years experience in marine environmental consulting, especially impact assessment, mitigation planning, and effects monitoring. His research and consulting disciplines include marine mammals, sea turtles, fish, plankton, and benthos, including coral reefs, and he has conducted field studies in the Canadian and Alaskan Arctic, Central America, the Caribbean Sea, west and east Africa, the Indian Ocean, and the South Pacific Ocean. He has prepared more than 60 reports and publications (including 10 refereed papers) on marine ecology, marine pollution monitoring, marine parks, environmental assessment, and baseline surveys of marine resources.
His recent and current projects involve environmental assessment of the effects various types of activity on marine mammals, sea turtles, and other aspects of marine ecology. Those include assessment of the effects of U.S. Navy training activities at two range complexes in southern California on marine mammals, sea turtles, fish, and fisheries; the effects on marine mammals, fish, and ecology of construction of an ore-loading dock in Coronation Gulf, Nunavut, and the shipment of ore through the Beaufort Sea to markets in the Pacific Ocean; and effects of academic seismic operations throughout the world on marine mammals and sea turtles. |
