Capsule Resume
Lucia provides GIS support for a wide variety of research projects. Her primary responsibilities are data capture, editing, map and data processing and creating map products. She has experience in producing First Nations traditional land use and resource maps in support of treaty negotiations. She implements quality assurance procedures as well as supervises and organizes digitizing and editing work for junior staff and subcontractors. She is familiar with available GIS data sources, particularly for the Pacific Northwest. She has trained co-workers and clients to use GIS.
Lucia also has experience as a scientific technician and has worked in various capacities. She is an experienced fish-tagger, having surgically implanted hundreds of radio tags as well as hydro-accoustic tags into juvenile salmon used in survival studies. Her tasks have also included fish husbandry, transport and release. She has participated in small mammal trapping, where she was responsible for collecting and cataloguing small mammals. She has experience in species identification and collection of terrestrial molluscs. Plant identification and documentation have also been part of her responsibilities. She worked as a marine mammal and bird observer where she identified species and documented behaviour.
