Ken Glasbergen is an ecologist and project manager with the LGL Limited Burlington office. He is involved in the collection of fish habitat data for assessment and mapping purposes, participating in numerous studies to determine fish habitat quality, fish population health and composition for a diverse range of clients including the private sector, conservation authorities, government agencies and research institutes. Ken works extensively with the Federal Department of Fisheries and Oceans Fisheries Act on a wide variety of projects. Much of his work has primarily focused on impact assessment and habitat restoration of stream and wetland systems.
Ken also participates in botanical surveys and vegetation characterizations using such methods as the Ecological Land Classification System (ELC). He has been involved in large scale inventory work for clients such as Bruce Power, site specific inventories include tree saving plans for development related projects, and vegetation characterizations to assist in the development of restoration plans. His wetland work has focused on the restoration of coastal, fluvial and swamp communities. Overall, Ken's inventory and characterization work helps facilitate land stewardship and development decision making processes.
