Capsule Resume

Beth is a fisheries biologist with LGL Alaska and has 22 years of fisheries experience working across Alaska. While with LGL, Beth coordinated a project mapping Cook Inlet rip tides using satellite imagery and local fishermen's knowledge, and worked on Beaufort Sea fisheries and marine mammal projects sampling fish and wildlife and collecting relevant measurements of environmental variables. She has served as field manager for a multi-year project evaluating juvenile chum salmon ecology in Norton Sound. Recently, Beth conducted a freshwater fishery survey in Akutan Bay for the Aleutians East Borough and helped with a test fishery and fishwheel salmon capture study on the Copper River. In 2001, she responded to an oil spill to sample fish and habitat in interior Alaska. Prior to joining LGL, Beth worked as a fisheries technician and fish culturist in Prince William Sound, Kodiak, Sitka and Bristol Bay; her work included SCUBA diving surveys, aerial and ground stream surveys, test fishing, and remote egg takes. Beth has worked at salmon hatcheries in Alaska where she handled large numbers of juvenile and adult salmon. She has also worked as a quality assurance technician with Seward Fisheries where she was responsible for monitoring fish processing operations, accurately keeping track of large numbers of shipments of fresh fish from different fishing vessels, and monitoring quality control variables in fish holding areas.
