Capsule Resume
Amanda began working as a field biologist and database manager for LGL in 2004 as part of a team studying beluga whale activity in the Knik Arm of Cook Inlet. Her Alaskan work experience includes over a year of Beluga whale research activities as well as working on a study of King Eider nesting ecology in NPR-A on the North Slope of Alaska. Prior to joining LGL's beluga whale research team, Amanda worked for four years as a wildlife biologist, studying bears, small mammals, and birds in Yosemite and Sequoia/Kings Canyon National Parks and the central coast of California. Much of this work has taken place in remote field camps or at high elevations. Currently, Amanda is part of the management team conducting a study on beluga whales in the Port of Anchorage, Upper Cook Inlet, Alaska using a theodolite tracking system.
