As a planning ecologist Connie has worked on over 90 class environmental assessments for provincial highways and municipal roads, as well as municipal water and wastewater projects. Connie has been involved in a variety of biological field inventories including detailed vegetation community surveys, fisheries surveys, habitat evaluations both terrestrial and aquatic, and environmental inspection duties associated with roadway infrastructure projects. She has also conducted socio-economic field investigations, participated in public and external agency consultation, and prepared environmental assessment documentation.

Connie has participated in fisheries studies both inland and coastal, in association with Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and amphibian studies in association with the Metropolitan Toronto and Region Conservation Authority. She was responsible for conducting a radiotelemetry survey, providing data on the status of the Common Snapping Turtle, Toronto Islands, Toronto, Ontario. She has participated in the creation and monitoring of several coastal wetlands; Colonel Sam Smith Park, Etobicoke, Ontario and Tommy Thompson Park, Toronto, Ontario.
