Capsule Resume
Will Duguid is an avid naturalist with a broad knowledge of the diversity and ecology of Pacific Northwest fish and invertebrates. His academic background focused on the marine environment and he has published papers on theoretical and applied aspects of crustacean life history. Will is also fascinated by salmonid biology and has experience in fish culture (hatcheries), stock assessment and population monitoring. He is currently working as a stock assessment biologist with the Nisga’a Fisheries Program on the Nass River. His roles include project management, data analysis and reporting for mark-recapture studies utilizing fishwheels, video weirs and visual surveys. He is also involved in the synthesis of data required to ensure that Nisga’a and non-Nisga’a fisheries comply with the provisions of the Nisga’a Final Agreement. Will believes strongly in the value of education and capacity building to facilitate community resource stewardship in both First Nations and non-First Nations communities. |
