Capsule Resume
Mr. Crawford has experience studying fish in a wide variety of settings ranging from small ephemeral streams to the Arctic Ocean. Recently he has worked on mark-recapture population estimates for juvenile salmon using weirs, fyke nets, rotary screw traps and underwater video. Steve has experience examining fish populations for pre-development baseline studies as well as post-impact as a baseline for rehabilitation efforts. Studying salmon and steelhead through snorkeling studies has taken Steve throughout Alaska and Idaho examining both the most productive salmon streams in America and some of the most endangered populations. Steve also has experience sampling with gill nets, backpack electrofishers, minnow traps as well as conducting aerial surveys and radio and PIT tagging fish. In the summer of 2010 he spent two months in the Chukchi and Beaufort seas sampling the fish communities in this lightly studied region. His roles currently include field data collection, data analysis and report writing support. |
