Riley Waytes is a terrestrial ecologist based in LGL’s Sidney office. His interests in conservation and the outdoors fueled his pursuit of undergraduate and graduate studies in biology. As a graduate student at the University of Calgary, he led research on native and managed pollinators in southern Alberta. He has also collaborated on research projects with institutions in the U.S. and Canada, including the University of Calgary, the University of California-Berkeley, Michigan State University, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His research has focused on understanding plant-insect interactions and anthropogenic effects on ecosystem services, with an emphasis on native pollinators and other beneficial insects.
