Cindy Fitzgerald has provided data management solutions for large scale biotelemetry evaluations throughout the Pacific Northwest using acoustic, radio, and passive integrated transponder (PIT) technologies for over a decade. She has been involved in a diverse range of projects with many different technologies, species, and data requirements. Cindy has been responsible for database design and programming, software development and analysis, and managing data and information technology systems as it relates to project objectives. Cindy has worked with scientists in all facets of data collection, processing, and management. She writes custom programs in Microsoft Access Visual Basic and Microsoft SQL Server-stored procedures for data import, processing, quality control and assurance, filtering, and export of many types of data files, including custom algorithms for assessing any behavioral or survival questions. Her areas of expertise include quality control and assurance protocols of large multi-year ecological data sets through SQL Server and Access, and summarizing data analysis reports. Cindy has continued to improve the types and amount of project data accessible to scientists and clients, including database designs that provide readily accessible and analyzable information on multi-year fish survival and behavior data linked with multiple variables such as flow, water quality, dam operations, fish passage routes, among others. Cindy continues to provide an enhanced user experience with customized data entry forms, queries, push-button reports, and automated processes. Cindy is proficient in Access Visual Basic and SQL computer languages and is currently developing her skills in R.
