Jillian McAllister developed a passion for reptiles and amphibians at an early age, a result of growing up next to Burns Bog in Delta, B.C. This appreciation for nature led her to pursue degrees in biology and natural resource management. Her wildlife work experience includes habitat assessments, mark recapture, diet studies, and radiotelemetry of reptiles and amphibians.
Jillian began working with LGL Limited in 2015, monitoring the herpetological fauna in the drawdown zone of the Kinbasket Reservoir. She continued to work with LGL as her industrial NSERC sponsor during her master’s degree at the University of Victoria. Her thesis focused on the movements, habitat selection, and hibernation of Common Gartersnakes in east-central British Columbia.
