Capsule Resume

Annie Chalifour is an aquatic biologist and ecotoxicologist. She worked for 12 years in academic research involving project management, field sampling, toxicity and biodegradation experiments, data analysis, and data visualisation/presentation. She has studied pesticide and polybrominated diphenyl ether toxicity on freshwater microalgae and cyanobacteria. As well, she has studied environmental chemistry and the means by which pesticides and pharmaceuticals are degraded in a lake ecosystem. She has written several scientific publications in these fields of research and has experience teaching and supervising graduate students.

Annie joined LGL in 2020 with the goal of transferring her knowledge to environmental assessment, water quality monitoring, and complex data analysis. She is developing water quality objectives for freshwater ecosystems and supporting First Nations with mine and industrial project reviews by providing technical advice related to water quality and related concerns. Annie is a Registered Professional Biologist in B.C. under the College of Applied Biologists.
